Daysync's Tour Chat exists to help everyone on a tour communicate — bands, crew, management, venues, and everyone in between. These Community Guidelines explain what's expected of you when you use Tour Chat, what isn't allowed, and what happens when something goes wrong.
They sit alongside Our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. If something in those documents is more detailed or more specific, those documents control. These guidelines are written in plain English so everyone using Daysync can follow them.
Our principles
Be respectful. Touring is a tight environment. Treat everyone in your tour the way you'd want to be treated. Disagreements happen — that's normal — but personal attacks, abuse, and harassment aren't OK.
Be honest. Don't pretend to be someone you're not. Don't post things you know aren't true to harm someone else.
Respect privacy. What's said in a tour chat is for the people in that tour. Don't share other people's private information (their phone number, home address, ID details, etc.) without their permission. Don't share photos or recordings of people taken in private settings without their consent.
Keep it lawful. Don't use Tour Chat to do anything illegal — and please understand that some content is so serious We have legal obligations to act on it (see below).
What's not allowed
The following is never acceptable on Tour Chat. If We see it, We'll act on it.
Harassment, threats, or stalking. This includes targeted personal attacks, threats of violence, and persistent unwanted contact.
Hate speech. Content attacking people because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristic.
Anything involving the exploitation of minors. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content that sexualises minors in any way, and any content that puts children at risk. We're legally required to report this material to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Australian eSafety Commissioner.
Non-consensual intimate imagery. Sharing intimate images of someone without their consent — sometimes called "revenge porn" — is never OK.
Terrorism and violent extremism. Don't use Tour Chat to promote, glorify, or facilitate terrorism, violent extremism, or organised criminal activity.
Illegal goods. Don't offer, promote, or facilitate the sale of controlled substances, weapons, stolen property, counterfeit items, or anything else illegal where you or the recipient is located.
Fraud and scams. Don't try to trick other users into giving you money, credentials, or anything else of value through deception.
Doxxing. Don't post someone else's personal information (home address, personal phone number, ID details, financial information) without their explicit consent.
Impersonation. Don't pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your role or affiliation.
Malware and phishing. Don't share files, attachments, or links that contain viruses, malware, or phishing attempts.
Spam. Don't use Tour Chat for bulk messaging, mass-marketing unrelated to the tour, or repeated promotional content.
How reporting works
If you see a message that breaks these guidelines, you can report it using the report button next to that message in the app.
Where reports go. Reports are sent to two places:
Daysync's moderation team (at Daysync), and
The organisation administrators of the tour where the message was sent.
Reports are not anonymous to the org administrators of your tour. Your name as the reporter, the message you reported, any attachments, and surrounding context will be shared with both Daysync and the org administrators. Please keep this in mind when you decide whether and how to report.
What we look at. Daysync reviews reports in batches and prioritises anything that looks serious or involves illegal content. We don't promise a specific response time, but we'll act on urgent matters as quickly as we reasonably can.
What we can do. If we decide that a message breaks these guidelines, the Terms of Use, or the law, we can:
Remove the message;
Warn the person who sent it;
Suspend their access to Tour Chat;
Suspend or close their account;
Preserve the message and related records for evidence;
Report the matter to law enforcement or another competent authority where required by law.
If we take action on your content
If we remove something you sent, restrict your access to Tour Chat, or suspend or close your account, we'll email you to let you know:
What we did;
Which rule (or law) we considered to have been broken;
The facts we relied on;
How you can appeal.
Appealing. If you think we got it wrong, reply to the notification email or email [email protected] within 30 days. We'll review the appeal and let you know the outcome. The decision on an appeal is final unless applicable law gives you further rights.
Repeat issues
If the same user keeps breaking these guidelines after warnings, we may suspend or permanently close their account. We do this carefully and only after prior warning, except in cases involving illegal content or serious harm where we may act immediately.
What's preserved, even if you delete it
Tour Chat lets you delete your own messages at any time. However, if a message has been reported, we keep a copy of that message — and the surrounding context — separately from the live chat history. We do this so we can investigate properly, defend our decisions if challenged, and meet any legal obligations to preserve evidence. The Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.
Org administrators
Each tour on Daysync has one or more org administrators who manage the tour. They can:
Create channels (public ones that everyone in the tour can see, and private ones for a smaller group);
Add and remove members;
Delete messages in channels they manage;
Receive notifications of reports submitted about messages in their tour.
Org administrators cannot read your direct messages, and they can't read private channels they aren't a member of.
Daysync isn't responsible for how an organisation manages its own people internally. If you have a problem with how an org administrator is using their powers, you can raise it with Daysync — and we'll look at it — but the day-to-day running of a tour is something we leave with the people running the tour.
If you're feeling unsafe
If you're in immediate danger or need urgent help, please contact your local emergency services. Daysync is not an emergency service. If a Tour Chat message involves a credible threat of harm — to you or anyone else — please report it through the app and also contact local authorities directly.
