Chat Moderation and Community Guidelines

How Daysync keeps Tour Chat safe, how to report a message, and how to appeal.

Tour Chat is a shared space for your whole crew, so Daysync keeps it safe with automatic moderation and a simple way to report problems. This article explains what's checked, what happens when something is flagged, and what to do if you think a decision was wrong.

For the full rules, read the Community Guidelines in the Legal collection.

What's not allowed

The Community Guidelines apply everywhere in Daysync: public channels, private channels and direct messages. In short, don't share:

  • Harassment, threats or stalking

  • Hateful content targeting people for who they are

  • Sexual material of any kind

  • Anything that endangers or sexualizes a minor

  • Other people's personal information without their consent

  • Scams, impersonation, malware, phishing links or spam

  • Content promoting terrorism, violent extremism or illegal goods

How automatic moderation works

Messages and media are checked automatically. Sexual material and hateful content are moderated by automated means, which means content can be blocked, removed or held for review without a person looking at it first.

Some checks, like image and video analysis, take a moment. So a message can be stopped as you send it, or removed shortly after it appears. Both are normal.

Report a message

If someone shares something that breaks the guidelines:

  1. Hover over the message and click More options (three dots).

  2. Choose the report option and send the report.

Good to know before you report:

  • Reports go to the Daysync moderation team and to your organization's admins for that tour.

  • Reports aren't anonymous to your organization's admins. They'll see who reported, the message, any attachments and the surrounding context.

  • Reporting doesn't delete the message by itself. Daysync reviews it and acts on serious or unlawful content as quickly as possible.

If your message was moderated

If Daysync removes or restricts your content, or suspends your access, you'll get an email explaining what happened, which guideline it relates to, and how to appeal.

To appeal, reply to that email or contact [email protected] within 30 days. Include the tour name and roughly when you sent the message. Daysync reviews every appeal and lets you know the outcome.

What tour admins can do

Organization admins manage chat for their tours. They can create public and private channels, add and remove members, delete messages in channels they manage, and they're notified about reports in their tour.

Admins can't read your direct messages or private channels they aren't a member of.

Moderation doesn't replace tour management. If someone on your tour is causing problems, an organization admin can remove them from the tour (see How to Remove a User from an Organization).

Your own messages

You can delete your own messages at any time: hover over the message and click the red trash icon. If a message was reported, Daysync keeps a copy separately so it can investigate.

In an emergency

Daysync isn't an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then report the content in Daysync.
